Welcome! Our new site improves access to a rich storehouse of information on the best in American newspaper journalism and the arts from 1917 to the present. Among the site’s features:
- A timeline, composed of iconic Pulitzer images, that swiftly connects to winners and finalists through the decades.
- Information on the history and administration of the Prizes.
- Details on how to enter the competition.
- Information on Pulitzer Prize Board members, jurors, significant press releases and an array of other items.
- A “search” function that taps deeply into the Pulitzer archive.
Many visitors will want to find previous winners and finalists. It can be done various ways. Choose any year by clicking an image on the timelime (at the top of the Home page and on the bottom of inside pages). Or choose the link to the left of the screen that says “past winners and finalists by category.” Or use the “search” box or "go to year" box.
From 1995 to the present, the site displays the journalism winners’ full work and biographies. The site also lists finalists dating to 1980 when they were first officially announced.
The site is best viewed using Internet Explorer 6.0 or later, Firefox 2.0 or later, Opera 8 or later, and Safari 3 or any standards-compliant browser.
