MARGO L. JEFFERSON was appointed Sunday theater critic at The New York
Times in January 1995, after having served as a critic on the culture
desk since joining the Times in July 1993.
Previously, she was a lecturer and taught American literature, performing
arts criticism, writing and English at Columbia University from 1991 to 1993.
