In honor of Black History Month, Google released a video advertisment revealing the most-searched-for Pulitzer Prize winner — Kendrick Lamar.

To celebrate its 125th anniversary, the New York Public Library reviewed its records to see which books had been checked out most in its history. Four Pulitzer winners were in the top 10.

A category in Audio Reporting has been introduced, while web links may be submitted in lieu of PDFs for the first time in all textual categories. 

The entry site will close on December 31, while digital submissions are now permitted in both categories.

The new prize will be awarded “For a distinguished example of audio journalism that serves the public interest, characterized by revelatory reporting and illuminating storytelling."

Highlights include early reportage from Peter Arnett and Relman Morin's coverage of the Little Rock Nine.

In 'Words from a Bear,' the author, fans such as the actor Robert Redford and scholars dive deep into the impact of the first Native American Pulitzer winner in Fiction.

“Both as distinguished journalists and past Pulitzer Prize winners, Lozada and Remnick bring deep knowledge and a wealth of experience to the board. We are delighted to welcome them,” Pulitzer Prize Administrator Dana Canedy said.

Jarrod Ramos, accused of killing five Capital Gazette staff members in their newsroom, has admitted guilt in Maryland court, according to the paper. The shooting marked the deadliest day for American journalists since September 11, 2001.

The Pulitzer Prize Board member and 1987 Poetry winner will receive the award — which recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to African and African-American history and culture — alongside other honorees on October 22 in Cambridge, Mass.
