Among the competition’s most notable changes: Public release of a recording in the United States is accepted as the equivalent of a premier performance of a work. While submission of a score is urged, it is not required – thus providing greater leeway for improvised music.
The eligibility period for the 2010 Prize is the 2009 calendar year. Entries must be postmarked by Dec. 31, 2009.
